Petrol Price Increase

Today announcement has cause a massive jam around the petrol kiosk as all cars rushed to pump in their petrol. Petrol price has increase RM0.78/L which the new price with effective tomorrow will be RM2.70/L.

A full load pump for my car is RM68 - RM70 but if I pump tomorrow, it will cost me an additional RM28 (approximately). My car CC is only 1.3. Imagine if is higher CC, the price will be even more expensive. Of course everyone will start to queue to pump as the money they save for today is enough for a meal.

I was lucky as I've pumped my petrol on Saturday & since my house & my office is about 5km, I didn't use much petrol and I only pump my petrol once a month. Yet the RM28 - RM30 per month can actually buy a lots of stuff.

Qing Ming

During the Cheng Meng or Qing Ming time (March), I was so surprised to see Jusco selling the prayers stuffs. I did not bring my camera & I asked Pat to use his Hand phone to take this picture. Jusco really knows how to do their business. Since it is so convenience, I don't mind paying slightly extra.

What is Qing Ming? We actually goes to our ancestor tomb and pray. During that period (normally prayers were held one week before or one week later from the actual day), the cementary is so lively especially during the weekends. Many people comes back to their own town to pay respect to their ancestor.

Qing Ming is totally different from Ghost Festival (All Sould Days). That, I don't think I want to capture any photos of the ceremony. Who knows I might get an extra "figures" in that picture?

HAPPY FATHER'S DAY

I got an Email from a friend with the Subject : A Father's Love. The mail content is like this :-

A son asked his father, 'Dad, will you take part in a marathon with me?'. The father who, despite having a heart condition, says 'Yes'.
They went on to complete the marathon together. Father and son went on to join other marathons, the father always saying 'Yes' to his son's request of going through the race together.
One day, the son asked his father, 'Dad, let's join the Ironman together.' To which, his father said 'Yes' too.
For those who don't know, Ironman is the toughest triathlon ever. The race encompasses three endurance events of a 2.4mile (3.86 kilometer) ocean swim, followed by a 112 mile (180.2 kilometer) bike ride, and ending with a 26.2mile (42.195 kilometer) marathon along the coast of the Big Island . Father and son went on to complete the race together. View this race

I find this video very touching. It really shows how much a dad loves his child and I would like to wish all Dad, Happy Father's Day.

Good Headlines

Recently, there is a new hot topic over in Malaysia. Is about airlines. The advertisement was so eye catching. Malaysia Airlines has offering Low Fares, RM0 (Zero Fares). Air Asia Airlines is even better Sub Zero (Free Seats). Calculators Don't Lies!

Then follow by Firefly Airlines. Everyday Low Fares. Is true Calculators Don't Lies! Addition, Free 5 kg checked baggage allowance. Air Asia actually charged $$ for any extra baggage.

I'll post up the newspaper advertisement later when I manage to capture the picture. We are now waiting for Malaysia Airlines to open up Zero Fares to International Flights. We still prefer Malaysia Airlines as seats were allocated, drinks is served plus the air steward or stewardess is very professional.

USB Drive/Thumbdrive

Over in Malaysia, we call it USB Thumb drive or Handy Drive but US called it USB Drive. I still remember when I first bought a 64MB Handy Drive, it cost us RM160 - 180 which was 7 - 8 years ago. That time, Apacer was very famous. My Apacer is actually still workable

Then I got a 1 GB Transcend for about RM88 which was 2 - 3 years ago and is a lifetime warranty. I quite like this brand has it has some special features like PC-Lock, Secure zip & etc.

Just 2 days ago, I bought a 4GB Transcend Thumb drive and it cost only RM49. Just imagine, over the past few years, the price has dropped so much from RM180 to Rm49. Pat asked me why don't I get an 8GB as it costs only RM96.

I think by the time I required an 8GB, the price will be around RM40 or less & I only pay for RM90 for a 12GB (4GB + 8GB). I guess it will be much better.

Page Ranking

Oh gosh....I still don't have any page rank now. Maybe is because I did not write daily & secondly, not much links from others. Most of my friend has linked my old website. As of now, my Page Rank is still Zero.

You can actually check your Page Rank here. Is the same as Alexa.com. All this tells you about your traffics. Same goes for my Alexa's traffic which is not so good either. For Alexa, the smaller number it is, the better.

As for Technorati, is even worst. I only get about 5 Authority. Still not sure how to go about it but for sure one thing I know is to write daily.

What a "Good Sales Person"

My husband told me that he has an appointment tonight. I asked him, is it about Amway again? He told me not as his friend, Eric wanted to pass him some CD, motivation CD.

So we went to a coffee shop to meet up. When we reached there, Eric & his girlfriend, Sheryl has arrived. Eric & Pat were chit-chatting about some motivation CD and some Emails that received. As for Sheryl & myself, we talked about our pets, my dogs & her tortoise.

After chatting for about 45 mins, sales talk started. I'm not sure what Eric & Pat talks about but Sheryl started to push Amway products. I told her that I used to forget taking my vitamin pills (which was true) & I'm very allergic to skin products (which is true too.

Chatting for another 15 - 20 mins, Eric asked Sheryl to get something from the car. Then Eric took out the multivitamins & explained to Pat. Then I saw Pat paying some money (not sure how much) which I thought Pat wanted to buy some vitamins pill.

Anyway, I know that Amway Multivitamins is actually a very good product. Reason is because I can't take multivitamins & Pat is dead broke (does not want to spent unnecessary).

Japanese Exam

Oh boy....oh boy. Our sensei (teacher) had just informed us that our exam will be next month, end of April. Even though we have only learned Hiragana & Katakana & started on some vocabulary, is still tough for me.

Katakana some how can't goes into my head. Guess I need to spent more time learning that than watching TV or anime or Hong Kong Series if I wanted to sit for the exam in December. Otherwise, I'll have to wait for next year.

However, I don't think I can go for the next level, Level 3 as mostly is Kanji. Kanji is all in Chinese character I don't know much about it. I always write the wrong stroke. That's why I take my hubby along to learn Japanese Language as he know Chinese Character.

Just found a website teaching us to write Kanji (Kanji Practise). Have to practise more even though Level 4 (Basic Level) doesn't use much Kanji.

Dictionaries

I really cannot remember how many dictionaries I've bought but I really likes to collect dictionaries.Just bought 3 dictionaries today. One Japanese Dictionary (where I'm learning Japanese language), Dictionary of Correct English Usage & Dictionary of Synonyms & Antonyms.

I also have a Penguin English Dictionary (kept in the office) & an Oxford Thesaurus. As you can see, my English is not very good especially grammars & vocabularies. Sometimes I also need to do some spell check. I'm not sure if anyone notice as my spelling sometimes uses British & at time US version.

Don't worry, I actually fully utilise my Dictionaries as needed during my blogging but I'm still short of two Dictionaries that is the Visual Dictionaries by DK & an Architect Dictionary.

Visual Dictionary is very useful as we may know how the thing looks like but just that we do not know what it is called. I need that kind of picture dictionary for my easy reference.

CPR

The instructor always remind us that CPR is a matter of life & death & we have to be serious to learn CPR. CPR consist of EAR (Expired Air Resuscitation) & ECC (External Chest Compression).

My colleague who has studied before told us that there were changes compare to 3-4 years ago like the compression, when he learned, it was only 15 push but now is 30 push. Blow is still the same, 2 blows. Last time was looking for the ribs & then place 2 fingers to look for the sternum but now, look for the nipple & put your palm in between/middle between the 2 nipples (time saving).

For baby (0 - 1 year old), ECC is using only 2 fingers & when compression is involve, only push 1/2 - 1inch, depends on the side of the baby. Of course tiny you press less whereas for children (2 -12 years old), we only use one palm & press for 1 - 1 1/2 inch (also depends on the size). For adult is 1 1/2 - 2 inch.

Since the instructor keeps on saying is a matter of life & death, I'm not sure if I will do the CPR as one's person life is in my hand. For those who are not trained at all or just by watching the video, I don't advise you to pratice with another alive person.

My instructor told us to do EAR only if the patient still have a hearbeat. ECC is only done when there is not pulse/heartbeat at all. How do you see? You need to perform the DRABC (D - Danger, R- Response, A - Airway, B - Breathing & C - Cirulation) and also BMC (B- Breathing, M - Movement & C- Cough). Really have to study.
