CPR

The instructor always remind us that CPR is a matter of life & death & we have to be serious to learn CPR. CPR consist of EAR (Expired Air Resuscitation) & ECC (External Chest Compression).

My colleague who has studied before told us that there were changes compare to 3-4 years ago like the compression, when he learned, it was only 15 push but now is 30 push. Blow is still the same, 2 blows. Last time was looking for the ribs & then place 2 fingers to look for the sternum but now, look for the nipple & put your palm in between/middle between the 2 nipples (time saving).

For baby (0 - 1 year old), ECC is using only 2 fingers & when compression is involve, only push 1/2 - 1inch, depends on the side of the baby. Of course tiny you press less whereas for children (2 -12 years old), we only use one palm & press for 1 - 1 1/2 inch (also depends on the size). For adult is 1 1/2 - 2 inch.

Since the instructor keeps on saying is a matter of life & death, I'm not sure if I will do the CPR as one's person life is in my hand. For those who are not trained at all or just by watching the video, I don't advise you to pratice with another alive person.

My instructor told us to do EAR only if the patient still have a hearbeat. ECC is only done when there is not pulse/heartbeat at all. How do you see? You need to perform the DRABC (D - Danger, R- Response, A - Airway, B - Breathing & C - Cirulation) and also BMC (B- Breathing, M - Movement & C- Cough). Really have to study.

Hi Its Me, I think everyone should learn CPR. My wife did a course on it.
Many years ago I had an experience of saving a young girl's life (just posted this story last week, "another five minutes") she was bitten by a snake and was fading fast, the hospital was miles away, we in an rubber estate, alone...to save her, I had to make a cut on her wound with my knife...you can imagine how frightened I was at having no experience in doing this....but she had minutes only to live.
Anyway, what you posted is very enlightening, good for you.
Have a nice weekend, UL.

Hello Uncle Lee,

Let me introduce my name. I'm Stef here. The reason why I use It's Me is because I can't think of a name & if I used mayasuen again, when I register with the paid per post, they will know that I've another website.
BTW, you're really smart to cut the wound with a knife. If is me, I'm not sure if I can think straight. Anyway, some of the rules was changed accordind to my instructor. They have to follow the American Heart Association.
