First Aid Traning - Part 2

The next day, we learn about Circulatory Disorder like wounds (may types of wound) & bleeding (like internal or external bleeding), Shock, Fracture (Injuries to the Bone), Recovery Position, Choking & Handling & Transport (a patient).

If I didn't attend this First Aid Training, I really didn't know that there is such thing as Shock! Definition of Shock is a condition arising from stress or injury producing an insufficient supply blood to the brain & other vital organs.

Wounds also have many types as it may be clean cut wounds (Incised), Laceration (Skin all tear) & etc. Some wounds is with slight bleeding & some are severe. So we need to know how to handle different types of wound (in terms of dressing & bandage).

Bleeding were taught if is internal or external bleeding. We also learn Fracture plus Dislocation of a joint. We did the Fracture Bandage Practical today.

During the Recovery Position (Practical - pic left)) we really have lots of fun as we need to turn our partner and they do a lots of mischievous stuffs. Some small build guys/ladies have to turn a big size fella which is so hard for them.

Then we have to learn how to move the injured person (Handling & Transport) from a certain place. Frankly speaking, is not easy during this pratice as the person we carry was about 42kg - 46kg. The hardest to carry is the 3 handed seat as the person who only use one hand to whole the injured leg & the other is used as a seat. Really needs a lot of strength to support.

Lastly is Choking. Some of us need to try a few times as we must find the correct position before we can perform the pushing. Initially, we need to ask the vicitms to try to cough out. If he/she is not able to, then we will help them by asking them to lean in front slightly using on hand to support the front (put your hand at the chest) while the other hand try to hit his/her back, 4 times. If still cannot, then we will have to do as the video shows (below).
